As temperatures rise, many homeowners start looking for ways to keep their kitchens cooler and reduce energy usage. If you own an Everhot cooker, the good news is that it has been designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to adjust its settings for warmer weather without sacrificing cooking performance.

Use Everhot’s Summer Mode

One of the easiest ways to reduce heat output during the summer months is by using the Everhot’s Auto-Eco setting, often referred to as “Summer Mode”. This feature allows your cooker to enter a sleep mode overnight, reducing both the amount of heat released into your kitchen and your electricity consumption.

To activate Auto-Eco mode, simply press the Eco button until the green light begins to flash. Everhot cookers offer three Eco settings:

  • Eco Off (no light)
  • Auto-Eco (flashing green light)
  • Permanent Eco (solid green light)

You can also programme the times your cooker goes to sleep and wakes up, giving you complete control over how it operates throughout the day.

Turn Off Lower Ovens

Many Everhot owners find they use their lower ovens less frequently during the summer. Because the lower ovens are made from stainless steel, they can be switched off without any concerns about maintenance or cleaning issues later in the year.

Turning off one or both lower ovens is a simple way to lower heat output while also helping to reduce running costs.

Reduce Hotplate Temperatures

During particularly warm periods, you may also wish to turn down your hotplates. Everhot recommends reducing them to simmer temperatures, allowing you to continue using them while minimising excess heat in the room.

This option works especially well for induction hob models, where the induction hob can handle boiling while the cast iron plates remain available for simmering and slower cooking tasks.

Summer Cooking Tips for Everhot Owners

There are a few important points to keep in mind when adjusting your cooker settings:

  • If you’re planning a large meal, such as a Sunday roast, switch ovens and hotplates back on well in advance.
  • The top roasting oven should always be your primary cooking oven when using a single oven.
  • Avoid keeping your cooker permanently in Eco mode and increasing temperatures only when cooking, as this can reduce many of the benefits of owning an Everhot.
  • If you’re going away, Permanent Eco mode is often a better option than turning the cooker off completely.
  • When using Auto-Eco, overnight temperatures should not drop below 40% of your normal operating temperatures.
